The CentreHead/Upper/Roof Blocks

The ‘CentreHead’ or ‘Roof’ Blocks are blocks covering the head, with the stick horizontally pointing to the left or the right, making the hand holding the weapon, either palm up or palm down. To meet a stick (weapon) attack moving down upon or moving forwards (from an opponent) towards one’s head or centrebody, the defending stick is forcefully projected out forward, back towards an opponent. It projects from the body to face height, just above eye level, into a horizontal position. They are simply, palm up or palm down punches with an emptyhand.

Any other motion but force, directed back towards an opponent’s force in a block, to fight, is considered a waste of time. As for later, the “block” can turn into a strike.
